Update on Kathy Klaus...
Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to update you on Jon's mom Kathy, and thank everyone for their continued support and prayers!
Kathy is still hanging in there, as her overall condition hit a plateau a little over a week ago. Her prognosis from the doctor's guestimations is around December 3rd. However he said this can change today or even tomorrow, so we're still on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis. Her pain is being very well monitored and managed. Kathy has nothing but Kudos to speak about the staff and doctors.
At this point, everyday we continue to have with her is a blessing. Kathy’s Birthday is December 9th so we’re hoping we’ll at least be able to celebrate this with her.
She had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family at the Kavanaugh House. Jon (who absolutely loves food) said everything was just great.
Jon and Sarah received their hands that they had molded in plaster holding Kathy’s hand. They look great… :o) Jon and I have given Kathy a digital voice recorder for her to record her thoughts and any messages to loved ones. In addition, we were also able to find her favorite musical “Rent” for her to enjoy. Kathy has been able to get outside for a few brief moments during these warm November days, and has been accepting visitors. She’s in great spirits and is continually making light of her situation with her sense of humor.
Again, Jon and I thank everyone for their support and prayers. Your thoughtfulness has left us both without words…
Many Blessings,
Shannon

Update on Kathy Klaus...
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would update you on Kathy Klaus' status, for those of you who are interested. She's still being quite the trooper, and has been hanging in there. Her overall condition has hit a plateau since about Monday. This of course is fooling all those around her, making us feel as though she's getting better. It has made these last few days extremely enjoyable, and I know has strenghened the already strong bond between both Jon and Sarah with their mom. This has been a wonderful gift, and blessing!
The doctor had a wonderful talk with all of them (Kathy, Jon and Sarah) both yesterday (Thursday). He mentioned she will have good days and bad days that will continue throughout the next few days. He has said that with her plateau this has given us another week according to his guestimations. She's in overall good spririts and continues to humor us with her jokes. Such as: "Kathy how are you doing today?"...."Oh, I'm o.k.,just dying."
I also can't thank everyone enough for their prayers and support! It's been truely amazing, and has reaffirmed to both Jon and I how awesome our family and friends are. We are blessed!
Continue to pray for Kathy's journey, and for Jon and Sarah.
Best Wishes,
Shannon

Prayer Request *Kathy Klaus*
As many of you know Jon's mom Kathy has been leading a courageous battle with cancer for quite some time. This past week she was admitted to Hospice at the Kavanaugh House off of 56th street, for short-term treatment of an intestinal blockage. Yesterday we found out that this blockage is being caused by tumors. This has lead to some hard decisions and a 2 week prognosis for Kathy. We're all very sad...and in a state of shock. We knew this was coming but it snuck up on us what feels like so quick. On a positive note, this will be an end to her battle and any suffering,
plus they can manage her pain almost 100%.
Please continue to pray for Kathy, Jon's sister Sarah and Jon during this time.
Best Wishes, and may you all be blessed!
Shannon

It's not much of a change from our previous one, but as we now have high speed internet this will now require a change in our email. I just wanted to let everyone know.
